Dhaka: Security has been stepped up in Dhaka ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit.
Street vendors were driven away from the footpaths; cleanliness measures were taken as part of greeting Narendra Modi.

Dhaka Metropolitan police has taken highest security measures for Narendra Modi’s 33-hours visit of the Indian prime minister.
DMP joint commissioner (operation) Mir Rezaul Alam said, ‘We will take necessary measures for assuring the VVIP movements smooth. We will control the critical spots in the city.’

‘Our main duty is to provide route protections and venue protections’, added the joint commissioner.

Moreover, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) media wing director Mufti Mahmud Khan said, ‘Bomb disposal units and dog squads will be deployed in every venue.  Moreover, Check posts will be built if needed.’

During his Dhaka visit, Modi will be under the security cover of Indian Special Protection Group (SPG) and commando force Black Cat. Members deployed over security and protocol measures have already reached in Dhaka and seated for a meeting with the several law enforcing agencies and protocol units under the foreign ministry.
