Panchagarh: A minor boy drowned in a pond near his house at Damorgram village in Panchagarh on Friday, locals and police said.

Damor UP Chairman Abdur Rob confirmed the incident saying, ‘The victim was identified as Kamrul Hasan, 7, son of Abu Taher of the village.’

Police, quoting witnesses, said Kamrul fell into the pond at noon. Later, he was rescued and rushed to Atowary Upazila Health Complex where attending doctor declared him dead.
