Bogra: A CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver was killed in a head-on collision between his vehicle and a truck at Dorgahat on Bogra-Naogaon Highway in Kahaloo, Bogra on Sunday morning.

The deceased was Helal Uddin, son of Ramzan Ali Pramanik, a resident of Abadpukur village in Khetlal, Joypurhat.

Local sources said the accident took place when a Naogaon-bound truck collided head-on with the CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the area at about 5:30am leaving Helal critically injured.

Later locals rushed him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at about 6:40am.

Sub-inspector of the hospital police camp Shah Alam said on information police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue.
