3 of a family burnt in gas line blasts
Dhaka: Three members of a family sustained severe burn injuries in a fire that broke out due to blast of the gas pipeline at a house at Tipu Sultan Road in the capital’s Wari area early on Friday.
The victims are Alamgir Hossain, his wife Hosne Ara Begum, and their daughter Sharmin, reports a local news agency.
The trio burnt when the gas pipeline went off with a big bang at their Tipu Sultan Road residence at about 12:00am.
They were taken to the Burn and Plastic Surgery unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Alamgir’s condition was critical as he received burns to 95 per cent of his body, Hosne Ara suffered burns to 45 per cent of her body while Sharmin sustained burns to 30 per cent of her body, said Sentu Das, assistant sub-inspector of DMC police camp.
