Dhaka: Five burnt in a fire caused by gas stove explosion at a house in Natun Court Talla Barobari area of Narayanganj city early on Thursday.

The injured are Monir Hossain, his wife Minara Begum, and his two nephews Rimon, and Arif.

Identity of another injured could not be known immediately.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp inspector said a fire broke out at the kitchen of the house following explosion of the gas stove at about 5:00am, leaving four of a family and another person injured.

The injured were taken to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

DMCH resident surgeon Partha Shankar Paul said Monir Hossain has burnt 23 per cent of his body while Minara Begum has 40 per cent burn injuries.
