10 hurt in fire panic at a garment factory

Savar: At least 10 garment workers were injured in a fire panic in a garment factory in Ulail area beside the Dhaka-Aricha Highway on Monday morning, reports United News of Bangladesh.
Farhad Hossain, assistant deputy manager of Al-Muslim Garment factory, said the fire broke out on the 11th floor of the factory in the morning from an electric short circuit and extinguished within around 3 minutes.
As the news spread around, workers of the factory, where 20,000 people are employed, started scrambling down the stairs, leaving 20 of them injured.
Later, the workers blocked the highway which halted vehicular movement on the highway
On information, a team of Savar Model Police Station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
The injured workers took primary treatment.
Additional police was also deployed in the area to avoid any unpleasant incident.
