Mymensingh: Two students of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) were killed in a road accident at an intersection of the University on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Trishal area of Mymensingh on Monday evening.

The deceased are Abdullah Al-Mamun, a first year student of Computer Science department and Mahfujur Rahman Asif, a 3rd year student of the same department of the university, reports UNB.

Police said the accident took place when a bus hit them while they were going to Trishal by motorcycle from the university leaving Mamun dead on the spot and Asif critically injured.

Asif died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital.

Trishal police officer-in-charge Moniruzzaman, confirming the incident, said the bus was seized but the driver managed to flee the scene.
