Kurigram: A man and his two sons were killed as a bus crashed into their motorcycle at Jamtala on Kurigram-Bhurungamari road of Nageswari upazila in Kurigram on Monday morning, reports UNB.

Abu Akkas, officer-in-charge of Nageswari Police Station, said the ‘Adar Enterprise’ bus from Dhaka hit the motorbike of Jahangir Alam, 45, at about 8:00am due to poor visibility caused by dense fog when he was taking his two sons–Jim Islam, 10, and Millat Hossain, 8–to their school.

The accident left Jim, hailing from Nilurkhamar Kaittari village in the upazila, dead on the spot and the two others injured.

Locals took Jahangir and Millat to Nageswari Upazila Health Complex from where they were shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

However, they succumbed to their injuries at the hospital at about 1:30pm.

Meanwhile, agitated locals blocked the road for one and half hours following the accident.

In another accident, a woman was killed when a speeding motorcycle hit her from behind at Uttar Beparihat Kadamtola in the upazila in the morning.
