2 siblings found dead in Dhaka
Dhaka: Two siblings died at Banasree in Dhaka on Monday reportedly having ‘Chinese’ food taken from a restaurant.
The deceased are Nusrat Jahan Urmi, 14, a Class VII student of Viqarunnisa Noon School, and her younger brother Alvi Aman, 6, a nursery student of Holy Crescent School in Banasree.
Victims’ maternal aunt Afroza Malik said Urmi and Aman took ‘Chinese’ food in the afternoon which their father Aman Ullah brought home from a restaurant, and went for an afternoon nap.
Family members called them as they did not get up till the evening.
However, they were found unconscious.
The two siblings were first taken to a local clinic and then shifted to the DMCH where doctors declared them dead at about 8:00pm.
Hospital sources said the girl and the boy might have died due to food poisoning.
