Dhaka: The Korail slum in Dhaka’s Mohakhali area caught fire on Monday night.

The duty officer at the Fire Service Central Control Room told UNB that the fire originated at a shanty of the slum at about 8:00pm.

On information, 11 firefighting units rushed in and doused the flame after one hour of frantic efforts.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

The reason behind the fire and the extent of loss caused by it were yet to be ascertained.
