A woman and her son were killed and three people injured as a bus crashed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Shahbajpur on Dhaka-Sylhet highway of Sarail upazila in Brahmanbaria on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as Nasrin Akhter, librarian of Sahilpur College and wife of Shafiqul Islam, a teacher of Kasba Syedabad College, and their son Riyel, 12.

Highway police said the bus hit the three-wheeler in the area at noon, leaving Nasrin and Riyel dead on the spot.
