Gazipur: A man and his son were killed and four other people injured when a truck rammed a human hauler (Laguna) at Naojor on the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Joydevpur upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Saiful Islam, 26, a resident of Kuriadah village in Durgapur upazila of Netrakona, and his son Shamim, 3, reports UNB.

Mohammad Nannu Miah, sub-inspector of Naojor highway police camp, said the accident took place in the morning when a speeding truck hit the Joydebpur-bound human hauler coming from the opposite direction, leaving Saiful and his son Shamim, passengers of the Laguna, dead on the spot and four others, including Saiful’s wife Subarna, injured.

The injured were rushed to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital.
