Manikganj: Two drivers were killed when a bus collided head-on with a truck on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway at Sadar upazila in Manikganj in the early hours of Saturday.

The Highway police said a Barisal-bound Golden Line Paribahan bus from Dhaka’s Gabtoli collided head-on with a vegetable-laden truck near Golra area of Manikganj at about 12:30am.

Front parts of both vehicles were smashed and two drivers were killed during the accident.

However, twenty passengers were injured in the accident.

The Golra Highway Police Officer-in-charge Mohammad Nurul Alam said 19 injured were admitted to Manikganj Sadar Hospital. Two of the injured left hospital after taking primary treatment while whereabouts of another injured could not be known immediately.

The OC said transport movement on the highway was halted for an hour following the road crash.
