Munshiganj: Two teenage cousins drowned in Dhaleswari River at Mollahkandi village point under Sirajdikhan upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon, reports UNB.

The victims are Bithi, 16, daughter of Abu Baker and Ayesha, 13, daughter of Mohammad Alam of Narayanganj.

Both the cousins drowned in the Dhaleswari River while they were taking bath in the river on Sunday afternoon.

Relatives and locals retrieved the bodies from the river after several hours of their missing.

They were rushed to Sirajdikhan Upazila Health Complex where attending doctors declared them dead.

Dulal Ahmed, official of upazila health complex, confirmed the incident.
