Pabna: Three people were killed and five others injured as a bus hit a utility vehicle (locally known as Nasimon) on Pabna-Rajshahi road at Majidpur in Sadar upazila on Monday night.

Two of the deceased are Abdul Gazfur, 27, a resident of Pabna Sadar upazila, and Shariat Khan, 35, of Chouhali upazila of Sirajganj.

Sadar police officer-in-charge Abdullah Al Hasan said a Pabna town-bound BRTC bus coming from Rajshahi hit a utility vehicle coming from opposite direction at about 9:00pm, leaving two utility vehicle passengers, including Gafur, dead on the spot and six others injured.

The injured were taken to Sadar Hospital where doctors declared Shariat Khan dead.
