Two teenage girls allegedly committed suicide at two places in Magura on Friday.

The deceased are identified as Reshma Begum,14, a resident of Lakshmipur village in sadar upazila, and Tammi Islam Oishi, 18, daughter of a municipality councillor.

Magura Superintendent of police Sudarshan Kumar said Sabbir Hossain, a neighbour of Reshma, proposed love to her, reports UNB.

As she turned down the proposal, Sabbir started disturbing Reshma over mobile phone.

On Friday afternoon, Reshma was found hanging from the ceiling of her room.

In another incident, Oishi, a student of a women’s college in Dhaka, hanged herself over a family feud on Friday noon.

Two cases were filed with Sadar Police Station in connection with the incidents.
