Lakshmipur: A housewife was crushed under the wheels of a speeding truck at Char Jangalia on Lakshmipur-Ramgati Road in Kamalnagar upazila of Lakshmipur on Saturday night.

The deceased is identified as Farida Begum, a resident of Char Jangalia village.

Police said a speeding truck rammed Farida while she was crossing the road at about 10:30pm, leaving her injured.

Later, she was taken to LakshmipurSadar Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
