Moulvibazar: Two people were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a pickup at Mashuria in Rajnagar upazila on Thursday morning.

The deceased were Arshad, son of Abdur Rahman, and Salam Miah, son of Abdur Rahim, residents of Kamarchak area in the upazila.

The two vehicles collided head-on at about 7:00am due to opaque visibility triggered by dense fog, leaving Arshad and Rahim dead on the spot and five other passengers injured, said officer-in-charge of Rajnagar Police Station Shyamol Bhaumik.

Locals and pedestrians rescued the injured passengers and took them to Sadar Hospital, he said.
