Former Chief Justice MM Ruhul Amin passes away
Dhaka: Former Chief Justice MM Ruhul Amin died undergoing treatment at a Singapore hospital on Bangladesh time Tuesday morning. He was 75.
Supreme Court’s High Court division Additional Registrar (Justice and Administration) Sabbir Foyez said the former chief justice breathed his last at Singapore General Hospital.
He said, Ruhul Amin was suffering from several physical complexities for a long time. He was shifted to Singpore hospital for better treatment, where he died undergoing treatment.
Ruhul Amin was appointed as the 16th Chief Justice of Bangladesh on 1 June 2008. He retired from the post on 22 December 2009.
Born in 23 December 1942 in Lakshmipur, MM Ruhul Amin was the chairman of Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission.
He left behind his widow, and, two sons.
