In a first of its kind, Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre of the High Commission of India in Dhaka in collaboration with Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University organised ‘An evening of Indian Classical Dance’ with young and talented Bangladeshi dancers on 4 February 2017 at 7:00pm at Upasanalaya in Jagannath Hall. Vice-chancellor of University of Dhaka was present on the occasion as Chief Guest.

The programme began with an inaugural dance by Sweety Das followed by Bharatnatyam Dance recital by Amit Chowdhury, Gaudiya Nritya by Rachel Priyanka Perris, Kathak dance by Dipa Sarkar, Manipuri dance duet by Babrul Alam Chowdhury and Anindita Roy, and Odissi dance duet by Afia Ibnet Halim and Md. Jasimuddin.
