B’baria clash leaves 1 dead; 20 hurt
Brahmanbaria: A man was killed and 20 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups at Nimbari village in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria on Monday.
Police said there had been a longstanding dispute between two groups of people—one led by Jamshed Miah and another by Sujon Miah—at the village over establishing their control over the locality.
As a sequel to the rivalry, both groups engaged in a clash with sharp weapons in the morning, leaving Rohis Miah, of the village, dead on the spot and 20 others injured.
Informed, police appeared at the spot and charged baton to disperse the two warring groups.
The law enforcers also fired 12 rubber bullets to bring the situation under control.
The injured were admitted to Sadar Hospital.
