Woman killed in BSMMU boundary wall collapse

Dhaka: A middle-aged woman was killed and four people, including a police officer, were injured when a boundary wall of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) collapsed on Wednesday.
The deceased was Parvin Akhter, 45, while the injured are Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) of Special Branch Jahidul Islam, BSC Nursing student Antara Zahan, 21, and Ansar members Rahul Biswash and Faruk Ahmed.
Quoting witnesses, the officer-in-charger of Shahbagh Police Station Abul Hasan said a portion of the boundary wall of BSMMU's C-Block collapsed in front of the parking area at about 5:00pm, leaving five people injured.
The injured were admitted to the hospital where Parvin succumbed to her injuries at about 7:30pm, the OC said.
