Cox's Bazar: A student of Dhaka University (DU) was killed and two others were injured in a landslide at Himchhari fountain, 5km off the beach town of Cox's Bazar, on Saturday afternoon.

The victim was Ridwanul Alam Sabbir, 22, a second year student of Marketing Department and resident of Uttara in Dhaka.

Himchhari police camp in-charge M Mozammel Haque said a big chunk of hill fell down on them while they were taking bath at the fountain at about 4:00pm.

The injured were admitted to Cox's Bazar Sadar hospital, reports news agency BSS.

Sabbir died on the way to the hospital, said Imran Uddin, a doctor of the hospital.
