Gazipur: Five people, including three college students, were killed and seven others injured as a human hauler hit a covered van on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Masterbari in Gazipur on Monday.

Two of the deceased were identified as Sadia Afrin and Farzana Afrin Shikha, students of Iqbal Siddique College, reports the UNB.

Quoting witnesses, police said the accident took place around 3 pm when a human hauler coming from Rajendrapur dashed a covered van from behind, leaving four people dead and eight others injured.

The injured were admitted to Shahid Tajuddin Medical College Hospital where Sadia died.
