Satkhira: A trader was killed as a pickup van hit his bicycle in Asannagar area on Satkhira-Khulna highway on Thursday morning.

The deceased is Swandip Sarker, about 35 years old, son of Amal Sarker of the village.

The accident took place when a pickup van knocked the bicycle of Swandip from behind in the area at 9:30 am, leaving him injured critically, said Sayem, sub-inspector of Patkelghata Police Station.

Later, he succumbed to his injuries on his way to Sadar Hospital.
