Narayanganj: Wall and roof collapsed following a loud explosion at a two-storey building at Tarabo municipality in Narayanganj city in the early hours of Friday. Two people were burnt during the explosion and were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

The Narayanganj additional superintendent of police (ASP) Faruq Hossain on Friday morning told NTV Online an explosion took place at a two-storey building, named Comilla House, in Barabo area at about 3:00am. Reasons behind the explosion could not be known immediately.

However, members of Bomb Disposal Unit went to the spot and cordoned off the building, said Faruq Hossain.

The ASP said the injured are Mohammad Ibrahim, and Mohammad Aynal. Both of them were sent to DMCH.

Police detained the house owner, Abul Khayer, and the building’s caretaker for interrogation.
