Dhaka: A schoolgirl was killed in a road accident at Shewrapara Bus Stand area in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased is Bisha, a class V student of Mirpur Ideal School.

Ashrafuzzaman, a witness, told UNB that the accident took place in the area when an Agargaon-bound bus of Tetulia Paribahan from Mirpur 10 hit the schoolgirl while she was crossing the road, leaving her dead on the spot.

The agitated locals set fire to the bus, halting vehicular movement on the road till filling of this report at 2:45pm, he added.

Meanwhile, fire service men reached spot and doused the fire of the bus.
