Savar: A Juba Dal leader was killed and another injured when a bus hit a motorbike on Dhaka-Aricha road at Jorpool here early Friday.

The deceased is Lalon Hawladar Rajon, about 30 years old, vice-president of Tentuljhora union unit Juba Dal and son of Waliullah Hawladar of Joynabari area while the injured is Hasan Mia, about 28 years old.

Witnesses said the accident took place when the bus hit the motorbike while it was taking uturn after loading fuel from a local petrol pump in the dead of night, leaving the two motorbike riders injured.

Later, they were taken to Enam Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Rajon dead.

A case was filed with Savar Police Station, said its OC Mahsinul Quadir.
