Keraniganj: A passenger of a CNG-run auto-rickshaw was killed as a truck hit it at Postogola in Keraniganj upazila on Friday night.

The deceased is Barkat Ali, about 40 years old, a mason, hailing from Jurain area in the city.

Sub-inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost, said the accident took place when a truck hit the CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the first China Maitree Bridge at night, leaving the auto-passenger injured critically.

Later, locals rushed him to DMCH where duty doctor declared him dead.

After viscera report, the body has been kept at morgue and informed Keraniganj Police Station as the accident took place in that area, Bachchu Mia added.
