Rajshahi: A former union parishad (UP) member was killed in a road accident at Amtali Para in Godagari upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

Witnesses said Abul Kashem Bhadu, about 50 years old, an ex-member of Mohanpur Union Parishad, was returning to home in a motorcycle from Nachole.

When he reached Amtali Para, a straw-laden truck knocked down Bhadu, leaving him dead on the spot, said officer-in-charge of Godagari Police Station Hipzur Alam Munsi.

On information, police recovered the body.
