This is the shocking moment a man shoves a woman onto a railway track before calmly walking away, reports the Metro. 

The man was filmed casually walking along the platform at Yuen Long station in China before approaching the 59-year-old woman from behind.

Shocking footage shows him waving to a friend standing on the platform across from the woman before shoving her onto the tracks.

The man, wearing a blue shirt and beige cap, then calmly walks away leaving the woman stranded on tracks.

The incident at the station was subsequently posted on social media where it has gone viral.

Fortunately, there was no train approaching at that time but the woman, believed to be a cleaner who works at the station, suffered an injury to her jaw and was taken to hospital.

A 56-year-old man, believed to be of Southeast Asian nationality, has been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
