Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone is not only slaying in the promos of her much anticipated film ‘Padmavati’ but also stealing the show off screen. The actress set the red carpet on fire at Jio Filmfare Awards Marathi 2017 in her Sabyasachi Mukherjee sari, reports Times of India.
Golden with floral embellishments in pink and green, what caught our attention was the matching trail attached to the sari.
But what took us by suprise was a revelation Sabyasachi Mukherjee made about the much talked about garment. The designer took to Instagram to explain the hardwork that has gone into the lovely nine yard garment.
‘It took 47 people, 39 days to finish this garment,’ wrote Mukherjee.
‘I like it when different faculties come together to make a couture garment. This sari involved artists, printers, embroiderers, pattern cutters, draping specialists and skilled tailors. The flora and fauna were hand-painted, printed, embroidered and hand-cut on fine tulle. The organic flow was manipulated by the draftsmen and the embroidery placed by draping on a dress form,’ he added.
