Patuakhali: A trucker and his helper were killed and another helper was injured as the truck plunged into a roadside ditch on Patuakhli-Kolapara road in Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning.

The deceased are driver Abul Hossain, about 35 years old, and his helper Kalam, about 32 years old.

Mustafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said that the Barguna-bound the vegetable-laden truck from Dhaka skidded off the road and plunged into the ditch around 6:00 am as the driver lost control over the wheels, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the bodies.
