At least people were killed and at least 16 were injured in a clash between a bus and a truck at Betgram on Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Sadar upazila of Gopalganj on Friday night.

The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained yet, reports the UNB.

Officer-in-charge of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Selim Reza said a bus of ‘Dola Paribahan’ hit a truck, fully loaded with trunks, from the backside around 7:45pm.

In the aftermath, some of the trunks entered the bus breaking the windshield and hit the passengers of the bus, leaving five of them dead on the spot and 26 injured.

The injured were taken to Gopalganj General Hospital when one of them died on the way.
