Rajshahi: Prof Mustfizur Rahman, dean of the Fine Arts Faculty of Rajshahi University (RU), on Sunday resigned from his post after the university authorities found him guilty of adding ‘sectarian questions’ in the question paper of first year admission test.

Prof Mustafizur Rahman, who was the coordinator of the admission test committee of the faculty and also chairman of Graphic Design, Crafts and History of Art Department, submitted his resignation letter to RU registrar Prof M Bari around 10 pm, official sources said.

RU registrar Prof M Bari said that Prof Mustafizur Rahman would carry out his job as dean till the vice-chancellor Prof M Abdus Sobhan appointed another teacher to the post.

Earlier on 06 December, the university authorities in a syndicate meeting decided to suspend Mustafizur Rahman from his post as a probe body found him guilty of adding ‘sectarian questions’ in a question paper of first year admission test.
