Gopalganj: Three people were killed in a head-on a collision between a bus and a microbus on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Gopinathpur area of sadar upazila on Thursday evening.

Two of the deceased was identified as Jewel Ahmmed, 24, of Helencha village in Alfadanga upazila, Imran Mollah, 20, son of Kamal Mollah of Boalmari upazila in Faridpur district.

Hazrat Ali, inspector of Gopinathpur police investigation camp, said the accident took place around 5:45pm when the ‘Imad Paribahan’ collided with the microbus carrying three passengers, leaving Jewel and Imran dead on the spot and another injured.

The injured was admitted to Gopalganj General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
