Saris are having a moment! Be it heritage saris, metallic saris or draped ones, Bollywood divas keep experimenting with saris.

Making sari a whole new sexy thing, Bollywood’s go-to stylist and designer, Manish Malhotra just invented a new kind of sari.

Mixing the silhouette of the gown with a sari drape, he designed a new hybrid, which we'd like to call a sari gown.
He recently designed this cool sari for the gorgeous actress, Shilpa Shetty. She was seen wearing the red outfit for a TV show and there's no denying the fact that she looked every bit glam in the sari, reports the Times of India.

The oxblood sari seemed to be a bodycon gown with a pre-draped pallu. The sari gown had a bustier front, which was attached to a sheer fabric.

Keeping it sexy, the designer gave the gown a thigh-high slit, and a rather modern twist to the look. The pleated pallu was draped from the sides and looked edgy over the shoulder.

For this look, Shilpa kept her hair open with soft waves and a deep side parting. We also liked her intense black eye make-up and a matching red lip colour.

She accessorised this look with a layered neckpiece and a matching hand bracelet. This look of hers has been styled by Sanjana Batra, while her make-up and hair have been done by Ajay Shelar and Sheetal F Khan.

This is not the first time Bollywood has experimented with saris. A few months back, Deepika Padukone showcased a custom-made modern sari by Sabyasachi.

The designer also gave her sari a modern twist. It featured an embellished skirt that was paired with a bralette-style blouse.

The sari had a black fabric draped across the body, which was adorned with a black leather belt.
