A woman and her minor daughter were killed when a bus hit a rickshaw at Khalishpur in the city on Wednesday morning.

The deceased are Shimul Akhter, in his thirties, wife of Babul Hossain of Alamnagar of Khalishpur, and their daughter Tonny, around 7 years.

Assistant Commissioner (Media) of Khulna Metropolitan Police Sonali Sen said the BRTC bus smashed the rickshaw carrying the duo around 7:30 am, leaving the minor girl dead on the spot and her mother injured.

The injured was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries around 9:00am.
