Chattogram: Five people were killed in separate road crashes in Bakolia and AK Khan areas in the city on Friday.

Four people were killed and 12 others injured when a truck hit some stationary human haulers near Shah Amanat Bridge in city’s Bakolia area around 11:00am, reports the UNB.

Three of the deceased were identified as Nasrin Akter, 35, Shah Paran, 28 and Hasina Akter, 40.

The injured were taken to Chattogram Medical College and  Hospital, said Zahirul Islam, sub-inspector of Chattogram Medical College Hospital police camp.

In another incident, Sirajul Islam, 60, a transport worker, was killed when a covered van ran over him in AK Khan area in the city around 4 am, said Zahirul.
