Samakal editor Golam Sarwar passes away
Noted journalist of Bangladesh and editor of the daily Samakal Golam Sarwar has passed away tonight (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un).
Sarwar breathed his last at Singapore General Hospital around 9:25pm (Bangladesh time).
He was suffering from cardiac diseases and lung complications, he said.
Earlier on July 29, Golam Sarwar, also the president of Editors’ Council, was admitted to Labaid hospital in Dhaka following a heart attack.
Later on Friday, he was taken to Singapore General Hospital for better treatment.
His wife Saleha Sarwar, two sons, a son-in-law and a special correspondent of his newspaper were accompanying him in Singapore.
