Police ready to tackle any untoward situation: DMP Commissioner
Police, RAB and other law enforcement agencies have taken up extra security measures in and around the capital prior to the verdict of August 21 grenade attack case.
Extra security members have been deployed, setting up checkpoints in different areas. Police started controlling movements of the people in Nazimuddin Road area, where Dhaka 1st Speedy Trial Tribunal is situated and scheduled to pronounce the judgment on Wednesday, reports the BSS.
All the people, including journalists trying to enter the area, are being checked accordingly.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Asaduzzamman Miah today said his force is ready to ensure security of the people marking the verdict, and have deployed adequate number of policemen in the capital.
‘We are always ready to protect the people. Police would not let the saboteurs any scope to carry out crimes. We would make them to face justice under conventional law. We have taken all security measures,’ he said while briefing newsmen in front of the court.
The DMP boss said there are no security threats ahead of the verdict, but his force is ready to tackle any untoward situation.
