Love is never late: Wedding photos of 28-year-old daughter and her 63-year-old mother move China

A special set of wedding photos have gone viral on Chinese social media, featuring a young lady dressed up as the bridegroom and an older lady in white.
‘My father promised my mother wedding photos before he passed away 21 years ago. Now that I’m an adult, I want to fulfill his promise,’ said Ma Er (username), the 28-year-old daughter who this month took wedding photos with her 63-year-old mother, Chen Zhaolian, in Shiyan, Hubei Province, reports the People’s Daily.
Ma posted a group of wedding photos taken with her mother on TikTok, a video-sharing social media platform in China, and soon went viral.
With a floral bouquet in Ma’s hand, a tiara on mother’s head, and Ma in a suit and her beautiful bride mother in a wedding dress, the two were captured in a crying hug.
‘All women fancy a wedding dress and my mom is no exception. She sacrificed her whole life to raise her children, but never had got to put on a wedding dress. I wanted to let her see the most beautiful of herself,’ added Ma.
Chen was not devoured by grief after the loss of her husband. She nurtured her children and her husband’s younger sisters as a cleaner for 20 years and never remarried.
After years of drifting in other cities, Mayer decided to go back to her mother. ‘Life is short, for my mother, it is even shorter. I want to spend as much time as I can with her to reward the greatest mother in the world,’ said Ma.
