Mymensingh: At least Three people were killed and another injured when a covered van run over them on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Shikarikanda in the city on Thursday.

One of the deceased was identified as Jakir Hossain, 25, a resident of the area, while the identity of others could not be known immediately, reports the UNB.

The accident took place around 7 am when a covered van knocked down four pedestrians, leaving two of them dead on the spot and injuring two others, said Mahmudul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.

The injured were taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where the duty doctors declared one of the duos dead.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to a local hospital morgue.
