3G, 4G services suspended in Bangladesh
Dhaka: The mobile phone operators were ordered on Saturday to stop 3G and 4G services ‘for the sake of state security and to prevent rumours.’
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) order comes a day before the country goes to polls, reports the UNB.
The services would be unavailable from 3pm Saturday to Sunday midnight, BTRC Senior Assistant Director (Media) Jakir Hossain Khan told UNB.
On Thursday, BTRC ordered suspension of 3G and 4G data services but later withdrew the directive after about 10 hours.
