Trawler capsizes: Three bodies recovered

Manikganj: Bodies of three people, who went missing in two separate incidents of trawler capsize during a storm in the Padma and the Meghna rivers on Sunday evening, were recovered from the Pamda river near Paturia Ferry ghat on Tuesday.

However, two people are still missing, reports the UNB.

The deceased were identified as Yad Ali and Chand Mia, residents of Dhutrabari village in Shibaloy upazila in Manikganj district and Ismail, 50 hailing from Sathia upazila of Pabna.

Bodies of two fishermen—Yad and Chand, who went missing after their fishing trawler sank near Dhutrabari area, were recovered from near Paturia ferry ghat around 10am, said Md Mizanur Rahman,Deputy Assistant Directorof Manikganj Fire Service and Civil Defense.

Ismail’s body was recovered from the river near Dhulsura area around 1:30pm, he said.

Ismail along with his two fellows went missing after their stone-laden trawler capsized near Dhulsura area in Harirampur upazila of Manikganj during the Sunday’s storm he said adding that a diving team of Fire Service and Civil Defense were conducting search operation for the missing.
