Those who love animals often go to different and sometimes even extreme lengths to express it. Some feed them while others pat and cuddle them. But not all animals warm up to this idea and if the animal in question is a lion then it is only prudent to maintain your distance. Welsh International rugby union player Scott Baldwin learnt this the hard way when on his trip to Weltevreden Game Lodge, South Africa, his hand got bitten by a lion, reports Indian Express.

In a video uploaded by Andy Goode, a former rugby player, Baldwin is seen sticking his hand through the cage and patting the lion till the animal attacked his hand. Goode clearly was not very impressed with Baldwin’s act of bravery and wrote, ‘Stroke the Lion it’ll be fine they said! Here’s @scottbaldwin2 petting a lion like it’s a pet cat!’
