A case has been filed against a 14-year-old rape survivor for throwing her baby girl out of a toilet window in Mumbai, reports the Khaleej Times.

According to a story reported in the Hindustan Times, the police has filed a case against the minor for abandoning her child.

Luckily, the baby survived the fall as she landed on the grass below the hospital window in Vasai. The newspaper further reported that the minor lives with her parents and cousin, who raped her repeatedly when her parents left for work. Her parents were aware of her pregnancy but kept quiet to avoid being shamed by the public.

Currently, the baby is in neonatal intensive care and her condition is stable. A case of rape under Section 376 of Indian Penal Code and other sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, has been filed against the father of the infant.

A case has also been registered against the minor girl and she will be arrested, once discharged.
