Woman finds venomous snake coiled round on filp-flops

A woman has revealed how she found a venomous snake coiled round her flip-flops in Australia.
Pictures shared on social media show the serpent sitting on the pair of beach shoes in Caloundra, Queensland, reports The Sun.
But the reptile’s scaly skin is nearly indistinguishable from the black rubber footwear, which is seemingly identical in texture.
The snap was posted on the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers Facebook page.
The post read: ‘A Caloundra resident got their Christmas present a little early this afternoon when she came home to find this juvenile red-bellied black snake curled up on her [flip flops] at the front door ... does it get any more Australian than that?’
Many commenters said they were stunned at how well the creature was able to camouflage itself.
One Facebook user wrote: ‘I didn’t even see the snake! Blended so well with the pattern on the [flip flops].’
Another said: ‘I too had to look again after reading it.’
Others were quick to make light of the situation, hailing the ‘new anti-theft device’.
The red-bellied black snake can grow up to eight feet long and us known to live near water.
It isn’t considered an aggressive snake but it will strike if it feels threatened, and it is venomous.
