Woman loses over 12 in bid to conceive baby

A super slimmer desperate to become a mum has dropped over 12 stone in a bid to conceive her dream baby.
Alyson Syms, 36, has lost over half her body weight after being told by doctors that she was too obese to fall pregnant.
Having dreamed of being a mother since she was little girl, Alyson knew she needed to ditch her size 32 frame for her dream family.
However after years comfort eating after being bullied at school, Alyson piled on the pounds and tipped the scales at 23 stone, reports the Story Trender.
Alyson struggled to change her ways for over a decade but it wasn’t until she suffered a miscarriage that she kick started her transformation.
Now, Alyson weighs a slender 10 stone 10lbs – and after losing 12 stone 5lbs has become the ‘Slimmer of the Year 2017’ for Cambridge Weight Plan.
Alyson, who lives in Fleetwood, Lancashire, said: ‘As soon as I was told that I couldn’t fall pregnant due to my size, I knew it was time to change.
‘I have been dreaming of having a family since I was a little girl, I had always wanted to be a mum.
‘But I had always continually binge eaten from the age of 10, I would eat anything in sight and would always feel hungry.
‘But as soon as I had the miscarriage and I was told it was due to my weight, I kicked my binge eating habit.
‘Now my husband, Jim, and I are trying for a baby – I can’t wait to be a mum!’
After years of comfort eating due to being bullied for her size, Alyson could only fit into size 32 clothing.
However, despite being told that she was too big to conceive a child, Alyson got herself into a ‘vicious cycle’ of comfort eating causing her to gain even more weight.
Alyson said: ‘As soon as I started secondary school I was bullied for my weight, which made my eat more.
‘I would be pushed to the floor and made to eat grass, and called a fat cow. But I started to put all of that behind me until I found out about my miscarriage.
‘I also found out that I was diabetic in 2012, so extra weight piled on because of the medication I was on.
‘I just felt like I couldn’t win – in order to have a child I had to lose weight, but thinking of the miscarriage made me turn to food for comfort.
‘So for two years I kept on eating anything that I could – mainly multiple packers of crisps and chocolate.’
However, after getting engaged in 2012, Alyson knew that she wanted to feel comfortable in a size 12 wedding dress on her big day.
Alyson wanted to try again for a baby once they were wed, and couldn’t at the weight she was currently at.
She said: ‘One day in January 2016, after getting engaged to Jim, I woke up and forced myself to start losing weight. It suddenly clicked that I was getting married in 18 months.
‘I didn’t want to get married in a massive size 32 wedding dress, and I knew after we had got married that I’d want to try again for a baby.
‘So I joined Cambridge Weight Plan to lose weight, because my dream was to be a size 12 on my wedding day.
‘After ditching the junk food and focusing on my wedding and potential baby, I kept going and lost the weight in 18 months.’
Despite Jim’s son, Conna, 9, living with them, the couple are now trying for their first child together.
Alyson has now been given the go-ahead from doctors to try to conceive and, thanks to her weight loss, her diabetes has gone.
