Lahore, Pakistan: Going overboard seems to be the new ‘normal’ when it comes to grabbing attention. Amid heavy rain and waterlogging in Pakistan’s city Lahore, a reporter took a dig at the state of roads in the city by reporting while sitting in a pink inflatable kid’s pool.
The pool can be seen floating on a waterlogged street while covering the city’s monsoon rains, reports the Times Now News.com.
In the video that surfaced online, there are several other inflated floating around the inflated pool the reporter is sitting in. His opening dialogue starts with alerting his viewers that he is not sitting in a pool but on a street in Lahore.
Mocking the lack of better facilities and speedy clearance of roads, the reporter expressed his enjoyment while sitting in a makeshift pool on a waterlogged street. ‘I am not in a swimming pool but in the middle of the road which is flooded with water and so are other parts of the city,’ he said as per a report by news agency ANI.
After showing his viewers his ‘enjoyment’, he further recommended that the locals who are watching him should do the same ‘as the water was not going to recede anytime soon’.
The viral video comes a few days after the pictures a politician from Karachi, Ayaz Memon Motiwala, went over the top in his bizarre election campaign to lure voters. Since his locality was suffering from a faulty sewage system, in his viral video, Motiwala can be seen going inside the gutter and having his lunch around a huge pile of garbage to ask for votes.
